Blue Spirit sits on a hilltop in Nosara overlooking Playa Guiones on Costa Rica's Nicoya Peninsula. Walking distance to one of Costa Rica's most beautiful beaches. The center is known for its eco-conscious atmosphere and world-class facilities.

All rooms include air conditioning and ensuite bathrooms. Accommodations range from standard rooms to luxury suites. Rooms in the Main Building are closest to the meditation hall and buffet.

  • Seven nights at Blue Spirit Retreat Center
  • All meals (buffet-style, primarily vegetarian, with locally sourced fish three evenings per week)
  • Group shuttle from Liberia airport (LIR) on July 11 and return shuttle on July 18
  • 1-on-1 sessions with experienced facilitators

Arrival

Saturday, July 11. Check-in from 3:00-4:00 PM. Opening session at 5:00 PM. Please arrive by 4:00 PM.

Daily structure

The retreat day runs 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Sessions include group instruction, guided meditation, 1-on-1 facilitation, and dedicated solo practice time.

Departure

Saturday, July 18. Programming ends around 9:00 AM. Check out by 10:00 AM. Please plan to leave no earlier than 9:00 AM.

Before you book

You must be at least 18 years old to attend

Participation requires completing a mental health screening and signing required agreements

Do not book flights or make travel arrangements until your screening is complete and your spot is confirmed. Screenings begin no later than February 15

Check flight availability to Liberia (LIR) before securing your spot — not all cities have daily flights, and you must land by 1:00 PM on July 11 to catch the group shuttle

This is a full-week retreat — only sign up if you can attend the entire program from July 11 through July 18

July weather: sunny mornings with occasional afternoon rain, 77-86°F. Pack for both sun and rain. Rooms are air-conditioned. Bring insect repellent (also available at the venue gift store)

Shared booking discount: book with a friend or partner and save $1,500 per person on eligible room types. Email retreats@jhourney.io with your friend/partner cc'd to claim your code before booking. Eligible Rooms: Couples: Superior Ocean View, Ocean View, Mountain View, Garden Suite. Friends (Separate Beds): Ocean View, Mountain View.

Fly into Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport (LIR) in Liberia. The drive to Blue Spirit is approximately 3 hours.

Complimentary group shuttles run from LIR on Saturday, July 11 between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM. Your flight must land by 1:00 PM to catch the last shuttle. Return shuttles depart July 18 between 9:00 and 10:00 AM — book a return flight departing after 2:00 PM.

Check flight availability to Liberia before booking — not all cities have daily service to LIR. If arriving outside the shuttle windows, you can book a private taxi from the airport.

A participant-led carpool spreadsheet will be shared before the retreat.
